Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Dish Tek Sing Shipwreck 1822

This dish is from the Tek Sing shipwreck dated to c.1822, the cargo of which was sold at Nagel’s auctioneers in Germany in 2000. The underglaze blue pattern features flowers in a basket. Around the rim is painted an iron wash to prevent "fritting" of the glaze during firing. There is a piece of kiln grit embedded within the glaze at the rim.

Chinese 19th Century Small Blue & White Porcelain Bowl

This attractively-shaped smaller porcelain bowl was made during the 19th century. It has a flared rim and stands on quite a sturdy high foot. Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Dish - Fo Dog

This small porcelain dish was made during the 16th century. It is coated in a thick glaze and is a little misshapen. The underglaze blue decoration features a stylised fo dog in its centre and a scrolling floral pattern around the underside wall. The discolouration of the glaze seems to be as a result of conditions during firing as well as long burial - this dish was excavated in Cambodia.

Thai 13th - 15th Century Miniature Stoneware Jar

This very small jar, or jarlet, was made during the 13th - 15th centuries and is a product of the Sawankhalok kilns. Its upper body is coated in an attractive brown glaze, the colour of which varies according to its thickness. The rounded lower body remains unglazed. Chinese Qianlong Blue & White Porcelain Octagonal Dish with Rivets

This dish was made in the 18th century, during the Qianlong reign (1735 - 1796) of the Qing Dynasty. The underglaze blue decoration is of good colour and features pagodas within a riverside scene surrounded by an elaborate border that includes butterflies.

Diameter 23.75 cm (9.25 inches). This dish has been broken in two and repaired with rivets. There is also a rim chip.

Small Vietnamese 15th Century Covered Box with Chinese Characters

This small box was made during the 15th century. The underglaze blue pattern is quite difficult to interpret - it seems to be of a landscape that includes Chinese characters.
