Rare Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Small Stoneware Jar

This small heavily-potted jar, or jarlet, was made during the 12th - 13th centuries, most likely at one of the kilns in the south where such wares were made for export around Southeast Asia. It is coated in an attractive pale yellowish-green glaze that is finely-crackled. It has a flat unglazed base, revealing the very pale stoneware body. Diameter 7 cm. It is in good condition with some minor surface wear but no restoration or repair.

Chinese Warring States Impressed Pottery Cup

This pottery cup was made over 2,000 years ago during the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC) using the coiling method as can clearly be seen when looking inside the vessel. The outer wall has been worked very thin and is decorated by the repeated impressions of finely-woven cloth. The base is quite roughly cut and formed.

This shallow bowl was made in the 18th century during the Qianlong reign (1736 - 1795) of the Qing Dynasty. The underglaze blue is of good colour, the attractive floral pattern crisply painted.
