Thai 14th - 15th Century Sawankhalok Celadon Jarlet

This small jar, or jarlet, is a product of the Sawankhalok kilns and was made around the 14th - 15th century. It is quite "heavily-potted" with the upper surface coated in a celadon glaze, the thickness of which varies in places; at its thickest the colour has a hint of blue. It has two sturdy loop handles joining the shoulder to the mouth. It is in fine condition with no repair or restoration. Height 5.75 cm (2.25 inches).

Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Jar - Fo Dog

This small blue & white porcelain jar dates to the 16th century. It is quite heavily-potted and coated in a thick crackled glaze. The underglaze blue decoration features two dogs of fo. The mouth is a little misshapen, this from its manufacture and not later damage. Height 7.5 cm (3 inches). It is in fine condition with no repair or restoration.

Chinese 18th / 19th Century Stoneware Jar (not Song Dynasty)

This wide-bodied stoneware storage jar dates to the 18th or 19th century although over the last few years many similar examples from a shipwreck have appeared on the market that have been mis-attributed to the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279). Both inner and outer surfaces have been coated in a very attractive brown, almost reddish blaze. The rim edge, lower outer body and base remain unglazed.

Rare Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Small Stoneware Jar

This small heavily-potted jar, or jarlet, was made during the 12th - 13th centuries, most likely at one of the kilns in the south where such wares were made for export around Southeast Asia. It is coated in an attractive pale yellowish-green glaze that is finely-crackled. It has a flat unglazed base, revealing the very pale stoneware body. Diameter 7 cm. It is in good condition with some minor surface wear but no restoration or repair.

Rare Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Covered Box

This rare and unusual small covered box was made during the Wanli reign (1573 - 1620) of the Ming Dynasty. It has a conical-shaped cover and is decorated with an underglaze blue floral pattern. 

Diameter 5.25 cm. Although there is no restoration or repair, there is a tiny chip to the cover edge and a small surface chip to the lower part.
