Fine Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Bowl - Chrysanthemums

This fine-quality porcelain bowl was made during the 16th century, c.1550-1570. The pattern, in underglaze blue of good colour, features chrysanthemum blossoms (the chrysanthemum is the emblem of autumn and also represents friendship and an easy life. The inner rim is further decorated with a trellis border whereas the outer rim has a narrower floral scroll border. There is a seal mark to the recessed base.

Fine Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Bowl - Jiajing

This attractive blue & white porcelain bowl was made during the Jiajing reign (1522 - 1566) of the Ming Dynasty. The outer wall is decorated with a scrolling peony pattern whilst the inner pattern features lotus flowers in "white on blue". There is the usual "fritting" to the glaze at the rim edge seen on most porcelain of this period as well as some expected surface wear.

This fine quality porcelain bowl was made during the Transitional period, the middle to late 17th century. It is fairly "heavily-potted" and elaborately decorated in underglaze blue, the pattern featuring flower blossoms. To the base is a floral mark within two wide blue bands.. Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Box

This blue & white porcelain box dates to the 16th century. The underglaze blue decoration to the cover features a peach, representing marriage as well as being a symbol of immortality and springtime, below which is a scrolling floral pattern. This pair of small porcelain saucer dishes was made during the latter part of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). They are simply decorated in underglaze blue with simple thin blue lines and each with a seal mark to the base.
