Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Dish with Fish Pattern

This unusual porcelain dish was made during the 15th Century. It has rounded sides and is relatively “heavily-potted” with a "hole-bottom" base. It is decorated inside with a "red biscuit" fish amongst water weeds that are shown in underglaze blue. The fish is a symbol of wealth and abundance. The dish is coated in a crackled glaze.

Diameter 12 cm. It is in fine condition with no repair or restoration.

Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Bowl (Hongzhi)

This blue and white porcelain bowl with flared rim was made during the late 15th - early 16th century (Hongzhi reign 1488 – 1505). The outer wall is decorated in underglaze blue with a honeycomb pattern below which are lotus leaf panels. The inside decoration is has a floral pattern in the centre with a band of repeated Sanskrit characters around the rim.

This bowl was made during the 15th – 16th Century (Choson / Joseon Dynasty). This Qingbai-glazed meiping was made during the 13th - 14th century, the latter part of the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279) or the Yuan Dynasty (1279 - 1368). It is quite heavily-potted and coated in a finely-crackled pale green Qingbai glaze.
