This impressive and heavily-potted stoneware dish was made during the 15th century. Decoration is minimal with a just a few simple incised lines around the inner surface. Very Rare Large Burmese 13th - 15th Century Celadon Bowl

This large stoneware bowl, or dish, was made during the 13th - 15th century. Although clearly heavily influenced by Chinese Longquan celadons of the period, this example was made in Burma. It is "heavily-potted" and coated in a thick heavily-crackled glaze of a pale, almost yellowy green. The unglazed base is fairly roughly cut and has fired to an intense orangey-brown.
