Fine Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Bowl - Bird in Tree

This attractive porcelain bowl was made during the mid to late 16th century. The underglaze blue pattern features on both sides of the outer wall a bird on a prunus branch. The prunus is a symbol of life as it blossoms in springtime on what appears to be a lifeless tree without leaves.
