Rare Chinese Six Dynasties Painted Pottery Mythical Creature

This very rare pottery model of a mythical creature was made during the Six Dynasties period (AD 220 - 589). It is "heavily-potted" and made from a relatively highly-fired grey pottery that has been "cold painted" in a creamy-white pigment with details picked out in red and orange pigments.

This pottery model of a lady was made during the Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 386 - 534). It is quite "coarsely" made in two moulded parts that have been luted together at the sides. It has been "cold painted" in white pigment with details picked out in red and black pigments.
