Thai 14th - 15th Century Incised Sawankhalok Celadon Bowl

This heavily-potted stoneware bowl was made at the Sawankhalok kilns during the 14th - 15th Century. It is attractively-shaped with a flared rim and is coated in a bluish-green glaze that is finely-crackled. To the inner surface, under the glaze, are lightly incised bands of decoration whereas the outer wall is more deeply carved with repeated vertical grooves. Interestingly, this bowl was excavated in Cambodia.

This large stoneware bowl was made during the 14th - 15th centuries at one of the Sukhothai kilns. It is quite "heavily-potted" and coated in a clear finely-crackled glaze that has a hint of green.
