Chinese Han Dynasty Pottery Chicken with Chick

This rare and unusual pottery model was made during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 220). It is "heavily-potted" and made from a grey earthenware. The chicken is sitting and has a chick on her back. It is fairly big at 24 cm (9.5 inches) in length, height 18 cm (7 inches). There is some repair, mostly around the front base edge.
