Japanese Bizen-yaki Stoneware Vase with Potters Mark 19th.c.

This fine flower arranging vase with shishi dog applied masks has an impressed circle in the base which is an unidentified potter’s or kiln mark.

Ht. 6 ¾ ins. (17.2 cms). It is in good condition with no repairs. There are 3 tiny chips to the lip. The interior shows signs of having been well used.

10 ¼ x 9 ½ ins. (26 x 24.2 cms) Keigaku was a native of Kawagoe in North West Edo (Tokyo) .and was known for illustrating Haiku.
