Tall Chinese Six Dynasties Painted Pottery Warrior (AD 220 - 589)
This tall and very rare pottery model of a warrior was made during the Six Dynasties period (AD 220 - 589). It is solid and made from a dense buff-coloured pottery. It has been cold painted in various coloured pigments. Note the details of the clothing and the facial features. In various places are mineralised deposits and some degradation of the surface layer, a result of its long burial.
Impressive with a height of 45.5 cm (18 inches). There is no obvious sign of repair but for such a figure this should not, of course, be ruled out. A large and impressive rare figure in good presentable condition.
