Chinese Western Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Head - Male
This pottery head was made during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). It is heavily-potted and has been cold painted, with traces of white pigment remaining. Most similar pottery heads are of females, whereas the hairstyle of this particular head would suggest it is of a male. It is a good size with a height of 11.5 cm (4.5 inches). There is surface wear but no sign of repair or restoration.
Note: it is shown on a simple black base - this is a photographic prop and is not included in the sale.
