Large Rare Thai Neolithic Ban Chiang Pottery Bowl
This large pottery bowl dates to c. 500 - 1,000 BC. It is of a very rare and most unusual form with its semi-spherical body and very wide flared rim. The colour of the pottery ranges from a pale yellow-brown to black, due to uneven conditions during firing. Much of the surface is still covered in calcified root/plant growths / burial soil.
Diameter 26 cm (10.5 inches). It is in fine condition with no sign of restoration or repair.
