Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Figure
This painted pottery figure was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a pale orange-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" with various coloured pigments. The figure stands alert with both hands held together under a long-sleeved robe. The facial features have been picked out in red and black pigments.
Height 22.5 cm (8.75 inches). Good overall condition with expected surface wear and loss of pigment in places.
