Rare Thai 14th - 15th Century Sukhothai Underglazed Jar
This wide-bodied stoneware jar was made during the 14th - 15th centuries at one of the Sukhothai kilns. The body is coated in a white slip. The shoulder is decorated with a scrolling pattern enclosed between parallel bands in underglaze iron-brown. The transparent glaze in finely-crackled and has a pale green tint.
Height 9.5 cm (3.75 inches). The glaze has flaked a little from the edge of the rim, otherwise this jar is in fine condition with no restoration or repair.
