Large Chinese Ming Dynasty Monochrome Blue Porcelain Bowl - Wanli
This rare bowl was made during the Wanli reign (1573 - 1620) of the Ming Dynasty. It is coated in a thick blue glaze, save for the recessed base which is coated in a clear glaze. There is some "fritting" to the glaze around the rim edge and toward the base the glaze has "crawled" a little, revealing the pale body. There is minor surface wear in places. Interestingly, this bowl was excavated in Cambodia.
This bowl is a good size with a diameter of 18 cm (7 inches). It has a good ring when tapped and is free from any restoration or repair.
