Japanese 17th Century Imari Octagonal Porcelain Jar
This fine quality porcelain jar was made during the late 17th century. It is "heavily-potted" and elaborately decorated in underglaze blue as well as with enamels and gilding, although the gilding has worn very thin. The neck is further decorated with openwork patterns.
Diameter 23.5 cm (9.25 inches). Chip to rim and old stabilised crack to shoulder and body.
