Large Chinese Ming Dynasty Stone Panel - Horse / Qilin / Deer
This carved stone panel was made during the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). The decoration features a horse, a qilin (mythical creature) and a deer. Each animal is separated by bamboo, the qilin standing between a rock and a palm tree. This panel was most likely originally one of a series. Very impressive when displayed well and lit from a angle.
Length 87cm (34.25 inches), height 27.5 cm (10.75 inches). On the surface in places are calcified deposits. Condition is good with no repair or restoration.
