Rare Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Ewer
This rare and interesting porcelain ewer was made during the Wanli Reign (1573 - 1620) of the Ming Dynasty. It is rather unusual in that it has a spout but no handle. It has been boldly decorated with blossoms in underglaze blue. Due to a manufacturing fault, the glaze on the spout has not adhered well to the body and has lifted during firing and flaked away. However, there is no repair or restoration, not even to the vulnerable spout or its support. Height 11.25 cm. Fine condition.
