Fine Chinese Tang Dynasty Glazed Stoneware Jar (AD 618 - 906)
This attractively-shaped stoneware jar was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is "heavily-potted" and has two sturdy loop handles on opposing sides at the shoulder. The thick dark-brown glaze, with a hint of green to it, covers the upper body leaving the lower body and flat base unglazed. The inner surface is also glazed.
Height 14.5 cm (5.75 inches). This jar is in fine condition and has no repair or restoration.
