Fine Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Bowl
This exceptional blue & white porcelain bowl was made during the mid to late 16th century. The underglaze blue is of good colour and the design around the outer wall is particularly unusual and elaborate featuring two boys playing in a garden with a female figure looking back at them. To the centre of the bowl is a male figure and a deer. There is a mark to the base.
Diameter 12.75 cm (5 inches). There is a very minor surface firing fault to the outer wall, tiny and obviously very old surface chip to the inner foot ring, also a very fine hairline to the foot rim edge that does not penetrate to the glaze on the outer surface. Overall, a lovely bowl in fine condition with no repair or restoration and a good ring when tapped.
