Thai 14th - 15th Century Miniature Sawankhalok Covered Box
This small covered stoneware box was made at the Sawankhalok kilns around the 14th - 15th century. Both upper and lower parts have underglaze patterns of geometric and floral designs. The inner surface of the box and part of the outer cover have also been coated in a brown wash. Diameter 4 cm. The surface of the glaze has degraded a little and there is a "nibble" to the inner foot but there is no repair or restoration.
