Thai 14th - 15th Century Celadon Glazed Stoneware Jarlet
This small and heavily-potted stoneware jar was made during the 14th - 15th centuries at one of the Sawankhalok kilns. Both upper and lower parts of the body have carved decoration and there are two loop handles on opposing sides of the shoulder. It is coated in a thick and finely-crackled pale green glaze. The flat base remains unglazed. To the lower body in places are pieces of kiln grit embedded within the glaze.
Height 8 cm (3 inches). No repair or restoration.
