Chinese Song Dynasty Celadon Glazed Stoneware Bowl
This "heavily-potted" stoneware bowl was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279). It is coated in a crackled translucent green glaze that has a slight hint of blue. The inner centre remains unglazed as such bowls were stacked inside each in the kiln during firing and this prevented the glaze from fusing them together. There are couple of minor manufacturing faults but no repair or restoration; very good condition. Diameter 15 cm (6 inches).
