Chinese Song Dynasty Celadon Bowl - Leaf Pattern
This attractively-shaped bowl was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279). It is coated in a slightly yellowish-green glaze, the colour of which varies according to its thickness (note the thick sags to the glaze around the inside mouth). The outer wall is decorated with a series of finely-carved leaf patterns. The inner foot remains unglazed revealing the pale grey porcelaneous body. There is a short hairline at the rim that appears to penetrate the body and another that does not. Overall a very nice smaller-sized bowl in good condition with no restoration or repair. Diameter 12 cm (4.75 inches).
