Chinese Yuan / Ming Dynasty Celadon Covered Jarlet
This small jar, or jarlet, was made during the 14th – 15th century. It is quite “heavily-potted” and coated in a finely-crackled yellowish-green glaze. The unglazed base and underside of the cover have fired to an orange-brown.
Height 6.5 cm. Condition is very good; there are minor chips to the base edge, no doubt caused during manufacture when the jar was removed from the kiln, and a chip to the underside of the cover, but there is no repair or restoration.
