Small Chinese Han Dynasty Glazed Pottery Duck
This small pottery model of a duck was made during the Han Dynasty (206 BC – AD 220). It is made in a two-piece mould from a red pottery and coated in a green glaze, the colour of which varies in places due to the glaze having partially degraded during its long burial. It would most likely have once adorned a large pottery model of a building or watch tower. Height 5.25 cm.
