Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Bowl (Hongzhi)
This blue and white porcelain bowl with flared rim was made during the late 15th - early 16th century (Hongzhi reign 1488 – 1505). The outer wall is decorated in underglaze blue with a honeycomb pattern below which are lotus leaf panels. The inside decoration is has a floral pattern in the centre with a band of repeated Sanskrit characters around the rim.
Diameter 15 cm (6 inches). This bowl is in fine condition with no repair or restoration and a good ring when tapped.
