Chinese Late Ming Dynasty / Transitional Blue & White Porcelain Bowl
This blue & white porcelain bowl was made around the mid 17th century (c. 1630 – 1660). It is decorated with a cloud pattern, blue lines that surround the inner and outer surfaces, and a good luck character to its centre. It has an iron-brown rim, this to prevent fritting of the glaze during manufacture.
Diameter 14.5 cm (5.75 inches). There is some surface wear to the inside centre and a tiny chip to the underside rim edge; there is no restoration or repair.
