Korean Choson Dynasty 16th/17th Century Glazed Stoneware Bottle
This stoneware bottle was made during the 16th / 17th century, or possibly a little earlier. It has a cup-shaped mouth, a narrow neck, a bulbous body and a flat base. The surface has been coated in an olive-green glaze, the colour varying in places, especially where the glaze is at its thinnest. The surface is a little uneven and in places there is kiln grit embedded within the glaze, all of which arguably adds to its charm.
Height 26.5 cm (10.5 inches). Condition is very good with just a small, and not at all obvious, filled chip to the edge of the vulnerable rim. This bottle comes complete with a good quality fitted box.
