A Japanese Bizen-yaki Stoneware Vase. Late Edo Period

This attractive Bizen vase based on a bamboo design is of an ideal size for use in the Cha no Yu tea ceremony. The potter's impressed seal is unidentified. It dates from the Late Edo Period in the first half of the 19th. century.

Ht.5 1/4 ins. (13.4 cm).
