Khmer 11th - 12th Century Small Glazed Stoneware Jar
This small jar, or jarlet, was made during the 11th -12th Century. The glaze is a very dark olive-green, verging on black, It falls just short of the flat base. The base edge is a little chipped at the glaze, clearly from where it was removed from the kiln after firing. There are a few small "nibbles" to the mouth edge. No repair or restoration. Diameter 7 cm.
This jarlet, together with some other South-East Asian & Chinese ceramics we are offering for sale, has come from a local collection, established over the last twenty years or so.
