Khmer 11th - 12th Century Stoneware Jarlet
This small jar, or jarlet, was made during the 11th - 12th centuries. The upper body is coated in a dark yellowish-brown glaze, the thickness of which varies in places. The lower body remains unglazed and has fired to a pale reddish-brown. Height 5.5 cm. There are a few tiny "nibbles" to the mouth edge but there is no repair or restoration.
This jarlet, together with some other South-East Asian & Chinese ceramics we are offering for sale, has come from a local collection, established over the last twenty years or so.
