Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Dish - Fo Dog
This small porcelain dish was made during the 16th century. It is coated in a thick glaze and is a little misshapen. The underglaze blue decoration features a stylised fo dog in its centre and a scrolling floral pattern around the underside wall. The discolouration of the glaze seems to be as a result of conditions during firing as well as long burial - this dish was excavated in Cambodia.
Diameter 12 cm. There is a small chip to the underside rim edge but there is no repair or restoration.
