Chinese Ming Dynasty Small Blue & White Porcelain Dish with Jiajing Mark
This small porcelain "mark and period" dish was made during the Jiajing reign (1522 - 1566) and bears an unusual five-character reign mark of Jiajing. Other than the mark, it is simply decorated in underglaze blue with rings on both upper and lower surfaces. It is a little misshapen. Despite having a slight ring when tapped, there are old stained hairlines to the cavetto and to the centre. There is no repair or restoration. Diameter 10 cm (4 inches).
