Small Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Dish - Peach & Bird
This small porcelain dish was made during the mid to late 16th century (c. 1560 - 1590). The underglaze blue decoration features a bird perched upon a branch of a peach tree. The underside is more simply decorated with just two thin blue bands.
Diameter 10.5 cm. The recessed base remains unglazed and shows manufacturing marks. To the inner surface is a wide band of kiln grit embedded within the glaze. So not the finest example of Ming blue & white porcelain, however, there is no restoration or repairs.
