Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Octagonal Box
This blue & white porcelain box was made during the latter part of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). It is "heavily-potted" and coated in a thick crackled glaze. The flat upper surface of the cover is decorated in underglaze blue that appears to feature an animal of some kind. Each of the eight panels on both the upper and lower parts are filled with floral patterns or precious objects.
Diameter 9.5 cm. It is in good condition - there is a faint hairline to the edge of the cover but it has no restoration or repair.
