Chinese Qianlong Blue & White Porcelain Octagonal Dish
This dish was made in the 18th century, during the Qianlong reign (1735 - 1796) of the Qing Dynasty. The underglaze blue decoration features houses within a riverside scene around which is an elaborate geometric and floral border. There is minor "fritting" to the glaze at the rim edge, caused during manufacture.
Diameter 23.5 cm (9.25 inches). There are shallow chips to the foot ring and a chip to the rim edge from which emanates a short hairline; opposite this chip is another short hairline at the rim edge, yet this dish does still have a good ring when tapped.
