Korean 13th – 15th Century Glazed Stoneware Bottle

This stoneware bottle was made around the 13th – 15th centuries, or possibly a little earlier. It has a short narrow neck and a cup-shaped mouth. The surface has been coated in a speckled olive-green glaze that stops short of the base, apart from a few runs that reach down to the base. The surface is quite uneven caused by trapped air bubbles during firing and a slight indentation where there is a kiln scar; the unglazed base is also a little uneven, all of which arguably adds to its appeal.

Height 23.5 cm (9.25 inches). With just the smallest of nicks to the mouth edge, and no repair or restoration, this bottle is in very good condition.
