Korean 19th Century Porcelain High-Footed Bowl (Choson)
This "heavily-potted" bowl with a high foot was made in 19th century, during the late Choson Dynasty. It is coated all over in a pale glaze, the colour of which varies slightly according to its thickness. The foot rim remains unglazed exposing the body that has fired to a reddish-brown. In places there are small pieces of kiln grit embedded within the glaze. The glaze is finely-crackled; to the inner wall, from the rim, there are couple of lines of glaze crackle that are slightly stained - these are not cracks!
Diameter 12.5 cm, height 9 cm. It is in fine condition with no restoration or repair.
