Chinese Warring States Impressed Pottery Cup
This pottery cup was made over 2,000 years ago during the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC) using the coiling method as can clearly be seen when looking inside the vessel. The outer wall has been worked very thin and is decorated by the repeated impressions of finely-woven cloth. The base is quite roughly cut and formed.
Diameter 9.25 cm. It is in good condition with no repair or restoration and just a small chip to the vulnerable rim edge.
