Vietnamese 15th Century Enamelled Jarlet - Hoi An Hoard
This small jar, or jarlet, was made during the 15th century and was recovered from a shipwreck known as the Hoi An Hoard. It is of a particularly attractive form and is coated in a very finely-crackled glaze with traces of its original green and red enamel floral pattern.
Diameter 4 cm (2 inches). There are some tiny "nibbles" to the vulnerable mouth edge but overall condition is very good, especially bearing in mind this lay beneath the waves for over 500 years !
