Chinese Warring States Incised Pottery Stem Bowl
This rare pottery object was made during the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC). It is made from a fine-grained grey pottery and is relatively "heavily-potted" and highly-fired. Parts of the inner surface of the "dish" have been burnished and very lightly incised to give a decorative finish. Note also the pattern that spirals down the stem to the splayed foot.
Height 16.25 cm. Overall condition is very good although the rim edge is repaired.
