Fine Vietnamese 13th - 14th Century Moulded Buddhist Bowl
This bowl was made during the 13th - 14th century. It is relatively "heavily-potted" and has a foliate rim. The inner surface is decorated with moulded designs comprising, in the centre, flower blossom, and around the wall, eight lotus leaf panels containing, amongst other items, some of the eight Buddhist "precious objects". It is coated in a finely-crackled pale yellowish-green glaze. Within the glaze in the centre of the bowl are five "spur" marks from firing; the base remains unglazed.
Diameter 16 cm. This bowl is in fine condition and is free from any restoration or repair.
