Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Inscribed Qingbai Porcelain Jarlet
This small porcelain jar, or jarlet, was made during the 13th / 14th century. It has been made in two parts, upper and lower, that have been luted together at the waist. The outer surface has been coated in a thick pale qingbai type of glaze. Its most interesting feature, however, is the circle of moulded Chinese characters around the flat base. These have not been translated. It is just short of 4 cm in height and is in fine condition with no restoration or repair.
