Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Moulded Dehua Qingbai Porcelain Box
This covered box was made during the 13th - 14th century, most likely at the Dehua kilns in Fujian province. Both upper and lower parts are decorated with moulded scrolling patterns. The inner and outer surfaces are coated in a very finely-crackled qingbai glaze that has just a hint of blue. The slightly concave base remains unglazed.
Diameter 12 cm. This is a very nice example although there are minor faults: there are minor "nibbles" to the "sharp" edges of the lower section, also a small filled-in chip (see last image).
