This "heavily-potted" dish, or bowl, was made in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). It is coated in a celadon glaze, the colour of which varies a little places. The glaze to the inner and outer walls is crackled but is crackle-free to the flat inner surface. This dish is a little misshapen.
A good size with a diameter of 22.5 cm and it is free from any restoration or repair. To the base are various unknown collectors' labels.
For information: this dish is one of many items from a late private Sussex collector we have recently acquired, several of which we actually sold ourselves over twenty-five years ago (our original price labels with stock numbers were still on the items !).
