Large Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Jarlet - Wanli Reign
This porcelain jar, or large jarlet, was made during the Wanli Reign (1573 - 1620) of the Ming Dynasty. It is "heavily-potted" and has a thick crackled glaze that covers both inner and outer surfaces. The underglaze blue decoration features flower blossoms and floral patterns.
Height 7.5 cm. There is some "nibbling" around the vulnerable rim edge, but there is no repair or restoration.
For information: this jar is one of many items from a late private Sussex collector we have recently acquired, several of which we actually sold ourselves over twenty-five years ago (our original price labels with stock numbers were still on the items !).
