Chinese Tang Dynasty Pottery "Fat Lady" Figure
This fairly small pottery figure was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906) and represents a female courtier that some refer to as a "fat lady"! It is made from a red pottery with faint traces of surface pigment still remaining. She wears flowing robes and has her hands clasped together across her chest. Note also the details of the face and hairstyle.
Height 16.5 cm (6.5 inches). Condition is very good with no sign of any restoration or repair.
