A simply stunning Vintage ring dating from the Art Deco period set in solid Platinum with 10% iridium, and featuring a fine and exceptional Unheated blue sapphire from the famed gem mines of Ratnapura in Sri Lanka weighing an impressive 3.03ct. The beautifully made Estate ring contains a superb pair of clean and white tapered baguette diamonds of excellent quality totalling 0.30ct approx. The central Blue sapphire is simply sensational - a stunning almost pure hue of medium blue - typically Sri Lankan - which at its best, like this example, shows exceptional fire and vibrancy. The stone is not only eye clean but also virtually loupe clean, with only a couple of truly tiny inclusions being visible under magnification. Such extraordinarily good clarity in such an Unheated Sri Lankan sapphire is absolutely rare and absolutely to be collected. Lustre and brilliancy are both excellent - the stone is positively 'alive' and is extremely vibrant and lively - the gem positively leaps at the viewer even across a crowded room! The diamonds are WHITE and not yellowish as in some pics. The ring comes complete with certification from GIA confirming no heat, colour blue. Regarding the date of the ring, it could be anywhere from the early 1930's to the late 1940's - since WW2 meant that the supply of platinum was severely restricted, and palladium used instead, we believe the ring definitely dates from the 1930's. We will consider a very near offer only, as this ring already represents exceptional value. Size a tad over 6.5 approx. Needless to say the ring makes a stunning statement when worn and is *absolutely certain* to appreciate in value as time goes by.
