Early sterling bolo with Mayan design on a brown leather braided thong with the fabulous cactus-design ends, Mexico, c.1942. Hand made of heavy gauge silver, the bolo(1 1/8" long by 1 1/4" wide) shows a framed Mayan figure with a recessed oxydized background highlighting the figure. The two ends are silver cactii(each 1 3/8" long). They are just incredible! Very large, early handmade painted animal skin and wood TLINGIT drum with beater by ODIN LONNING(born 1953 in Alaska), c.1970's. Huge, it measures 20 1/2" in diameter by almost 3" deep. The skin covered beater is 16 1/2 long. Has both killerwhale and thunderbird design. Tlingit or Haida 14k hand made whale or dolphin ring, Alaska, c.1970's. Typical design shows coiled sea animal and is size 8 1/2 but can be made slightly larger or smaller because it is not soldered. Modernist sterling pin made by Grosse, Germany, 1971. It is signed:"GROSSE GERMANY S925 1971" and is in excellent condition. Amethyst sterling screwback earrings by William Spratling, Mexico, c.1947. They each have a cabochon amethyst which measures 3/4" in diameter. They are appropriately signed. One of the stones has a natural fracture(see photo #1) which is very highlighted in the ENLARGED photo #1, but does not appear that way in person.
